Stop giving your car park away for free.

For hotels and restaurants the car park is the first and last impression, and a quiet revenue leak. Parka's ANPR car park management protects spaces for paying guests, turns parking into ancillary income, and keeps guest registration simple, without adding work for your front desk.

The hotelier's guide

How ANPR car park management works for hotels.

Guests drive straight in — no barriers, no tickets

ANPR cameras read each number plate on entry and exit, so the car park runs barrierless: no queue at a barrier, no ticket to lose, no machine to maintain. Guests register their plate in seconds at check-in, at a kiosk, or through a booking integration, and the system matches their stay automatically.

Everything else — visitor payments, restaurant validation, overstay handling — happens against the plate. Parka has run this barrierless, ticketless model in the Nordics since 2016, where free-flow parking is the norm rather than the exception.

Stop non-guest abuse without upsetting real customers

Hotels near airports, stations, and town centres lose spaces every day to commuters and long-stay abusers who never spend a penny on site. Because every plate is time-stamped, Parka separates registered guests, diners, and genuine visitors from abusers automatically — and gives you the evidence trail to manage each fairly.

Grace periods, staff whitelists, and blue badge exemptions are all configurable, so enforcement stays proportionate and your reviews stay clean. You decide the policy; the platform applies it evenly, every time.

Turn the car park into a revenue stream

Pay-by-plate lets non-guests pay for parking by card, phone, or kiosk — turning empty overnight and off-peak capacity into income instead of a free-for-all. Demand-based pricing raises rates on event weekends and lowers them midweek, using your own occupancy data rather than guesswork.

Live dashboards show revenue per space, occupancy by hour, and guest-versus-visitor mix, so the general manager can treat parking like any other revenue centre — with numbers, not anecdotes.

Built for UK and Ireland operations

Parka is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR-first: plate data is processed for parking management only, retained to policy, and ready for public and corporate scrutiny. Reporting supports the evidence standards UK operators expect under the private parking codes of practice, and the platform works equally for euro-priced Irish sites.

There is no minimum site size — a 40-space boutique hotel and a 400-space resort run on the same platform, with the same live data.

Common questions

Can a hotel charge for parking?

Yes. On private land a hotel can set its own parking terms, including charging non-guests and enforcing a maximum stay, provided terms are clearly signed. Most Parka hotels keep parking free for registered guests and charge everyone else with pay-by-plate.

How do guests register their car?

At check-in in a few seconds — reception enters the plate, the guest uses a kiosk or QR code, or the plate comes across automatically from a booking integration. Registration ties the plate to the stay, so there is nothing to display in the windscreen.

How does ANPR stop non-guests using the car park?

Cameras time-stamp every entry and exit. Plates that are not registered to a stay, a booking, or a payment are flagged with photographic evidence, so abuse can be managed consistently while genuine guests and diners are never troubled.

Do we need barriers?

No. Barrierless ANPR handles entry, payment, and enforcement without barriers or tickets — that is how most Nordic sites run. Where you want a physical barrier for a private area, Parka drives it from the same plate read.

Will this create work for our front desk?

It removes work. No permits to print, no windscreen checks, no disputes without evidence. Reception's only job is a two-second plate entry at check-in — the platform handles the rest automatically.

How quickly does a hotel see revenue?

Sites typically see income from day one of switching on visitor pay-by-plate, because previously-free parking starts paying immediately. The live dashboard shows revenue per space so you can measure payback directly.
